The Bilingual Education Student Organization at Texas A&M University
VP of Finance: Maria Mena
Howdy!
My name is Maria Mena and I am a Bilingual Education major from Houston, TX, but most importantly I am THE loudest and THE proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2022! A-A-A-A-A! I have the honor of serving as B.E.S.O’s V.P of Finance! Some of my favorite teachers growing up were my elementary teachers who were Bilingual Education educators. They made me feel at place and allowed me to be myself and it is something I would like to do as well. I enjoy helping others especially those younger than me. I believe being a teacher is one of the most rewarding jobs in public services. I hope to teach 3rd grade or 4th grade from my hometown Houston or Willis! Being a part of this organization allows for our members to connect and help each other as we all come for the same purpose, to succeed in what we want to. I look forward to having everyone be a part of this organization and help it grow into something better!
President: Jacqueline Salinas
Howdy!
My name is Jacqueline Salinas and I am a Bilingual Education major from San Antonio, TX, but most importantly I am THE loudest and THE proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2021! A WHOOP!
After I graduate I plan to teach in San Antonio, Tx, and hopefully receive my Masters in Administration at UTSA. After I will move up the education system ranks and get familiar with the different duties each one has. My overall goal is to not only create an impact in the classroom but in the education system, we have today. I believe that we are capable of so much more and that change will help students succeed in school and after they graduate.
Something about me is that I am a 1st Generation student and I am a peer mentor for incoming freshmen in ACREW. I love outdoor activities and food! I am proud to be a part of this organization and it will enhance my abilities to public speak, put to test my responsibilities, and create new friendships.
